چکیده

A typical crude oil supply chain consists of production oilfields, processing terminals, storage facilities and refineries, interconnected by means of pipelines. In processing terminals, different varieties of base crude-oils are received, processed and blended in order to produce commercial varieties which are exported and/or sent to refineries. In the last decade, very few contributions have addressed the operational planning of processing terminals. In this work, an operational planning scheme, which realistically addresses the typical operation of such processes in the context of crude oil supply chains, is proposed.

Procurement planning in oil refining industries considering blending operations

This paper addresses procurement planning in oil refining, which has until now only had limited attention in the literature. We introduce a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model and develop a novel two-stage solution approach, which aims at computational efficiency while addressing the problems due to discrepancies between a non-linear and a linearized formulation. The proposed mode...

A multi-period fuzzy mathematical programming model for crude oil supply chain network design considering budget and equipment limitations

The major oil industry upstream activities include the exploration, drilling, extraction, pipelines installation, and production of crude oil. In this paper, we develop a mathematical model to plan for theseoperations as a crude oil supply chain network design problem. The proposed multi-period mixed integer linear programming model entails both strategic (e.g., facility location and allocation)...

A general modeling framework for the operational planning of petroleum supply chains

In the literature, optimization models deal with planning and scheduling of several subsystems of the petroleum supply chain such as oilfield infrastructure, crude oil supply, refinery operations and product transportation. The focus of the present work is to propose a general framework for modeling petroleum supply chains. As a starting point, processing units are modeled based on the framewor...

An Experimental Study on the Operational Factors Affecting the Oil Content of Wax during Dewaxing Process: Adopting a DOE Method

The oil content of the wax produced in a dewaxing process is the key economic parameter that should be reduced as much as possible. Some factors such as the type of solvents, cooling rate, temperature, and solvent to oil ratio influence the dewaxing process. Due to the fact that crude oil differs from place to place and since the operational conditions for wax extraction vary for different type...

Potentials of Solar Energy Use in Upstream Petroleum Industry

Extraction and processing of oil products consume 10% of the total energy produced by fossil resource. to prevent operational problems in downstream units Oil extracted from oil fields will be sent to the desalting plant for desalination and dehydration. One of the most important steps that have a vital role in this unit is pre-heating by heaters which use natural gas produced with crude oil at...
